JR-990 is a fire-resistant, intumescent, phthalate-free acrylic sealant used for interior joints and penetration seals in fire compartment walls and floors. This single-component, gun-grade, ready-to-use sealant expands when exposed to temperatures above 125°C, forming a char layer that restricts the passage of smoke and fire. It provides fire resistance up to 4 hours, offers excellent soundproofing properties, and demonstrates good unprimed adhesion to most common construction substrates including concrete, masonry, metal, wood, and gypsum. The water-based acrylic formulation is halogen-free and low-VOC. It can be painted and is easy to clean up with water before curing.
